These two official add-ons from PopCap Games installs themed versions of Bejeweled and Peggle into World of Warcraft. Simply extract the files into your WoW Interface/Addons folder. After installation, players can type /bejeweled or /peggle into the chat menu to access the games.
Folks who were able to atttend last year's BlizzCon got a code that they could use later on to participate in a future beta test for an unnamed Blizzard game. Well, if you have one of those rare codes you can now head over to a special web page over at the World of Warcraft web site and enter that code along with your email address.
A few years ago, developer Cyberlore released Playboy: The Mansion, a Sims-style PC game that let players become a version of Hugh Hefner as they tried to create the ultimate party mansion while also running the Playboy empire. That game was heavily promoted but was both a commercial and critical failure. Now Playboy is getting back into the game business with UK-based Jolt Online (who recently launched the new Legends of Zork game) with a just announced new browser based MMO title called Playboy Manager.
With all the talk about PC game development either changing or dying off, it's interesting that a new survey of game developers conducted by Develop magazine named a PC game-only studio as the number one most successful on the planet. We are talking, of course, about Blizzard Entertainment.
Tickets for BlizzCon 2009 go on sale this Saturday and for those of you who will be attending Blizzard Entertainment's latest fan gathering you will be getting some cool extra stuff. One of these items was revealed today; a new in-game pet for anyone who plays Blizzard's MMO title World of Warcraft.
Blizzard is already prepping it's next major free content update for World of Warcraft and this week the company announced just one of the big changes it will be making in that update. Two of the game's Druids (the cat and bear, specifically) will be getting a makeover and sport new looks for the next update.
The million of World of Warcraft gamers in China are now dealing with some withdrawl symptons. Early on Sunday the company in charge of the the game's Chinese servers, The9, shut down those machines. The reason? Earlier this year, Blizzard announced it was breaking off its relationship with The9 and handed the big China World of Warcraft keys to a rival company, Netease.
Steam's regular weekend sale this week gives the massively multiplayer gamer a break this time out. All of the MMOs that are currently available for download and purchase via Valve's digital download service have had their prices cut until June 19
Blizzard's annual BlizzCon event sold out quickly but if you are not one of those heading to Anaheim, CA on August 21-22 you can still get some of the feeling of the event from the confort of your office chair or couch. This week pre-orders are being taken for the live Internet streaming video for BlizzCon 2009.
It looks like once you are a Horde or an Alliance member, you are not one of them "all the way", at least not after Blizzard makes some changes to their hit MMO World of Warcraft. Our sister site WoW.com has posted up word that Blizzard is planning to offer a service in the future that will allow players to have their characters switch factions.
